James Graham thanks 'inspiring' Ashfield teachers at Olivier Awards
James Graham has won an Olivier Award for his play Dear England, based on Gareth Southgate and the England football team.
It was named best new play at the 2024 awards, which celebrate the best of British theatre and is the industry's most prestigious awards ceremony.
The playwright used his acceptance speech to thank the teachers at Ashfield School in Nottinghamshire, adding that he was "so grateful" for his teachers for thinking "working class kids" should learn theatre.
