Is this Newbury's strangest job advert?
If you're looking for an unusual job, Newbury Town Council are advertising for a new mace bearer to undertake civic duties in the town.
It's not a high-earning role - with a yearly salary of just 拢100 - and you'd need to be comfortable standing for long periods of time. The job was advertised on the town council website on 17 April 2024.
