Is this Leicester's most unique sporting venue?
'The Mile Straight', right in the heart of Leicester, is perhaps the city's most unique sporting venue.
It's an artificial, Victorian made, and ruler-straight section of the River Soar that runs through Leicester, and where you'll find members of the Leicester Rowing Club training.
But why is there a man-made straight mile of the river Soar, and how does the rowing club link to it?
Leicester Rowing Club historian Sally Horrocks explained its story to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Chance Litchfield.
