Surfer attempts to break his own world record

Sebastian Steudtner has surfed what's possibly the biggest wave ever measured, at 28.57 metres in Nazaré, Portugal.

If confirmed it would beat his own current record of 26.21m, which he set in 2020.

Sebastian said the two things that “fascinate” him the most are the power and speed of the waves.

“I love to put out these dreams and goals and I make sure they’re big.”

Speaking to 5 Live Breakfast, Sebastian said that since his first world record attempt, he and his team have been “scientifically looking at the waves, our equipment, our bodies” in order to improve his speed and performance.

The German surfer said they’ve also been “installing the mindset that it is possible”.
