Dunstable D-Day beacon could be lit after all
A public outcry has led the National Trust to reconsider its original decision to say no. The charity is now looking into the possibility of lighting the beacon at the top of Dunstable Downs to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the operation which began the liberation of France in the Second World War.
