Mikey Roynon’s mum: ‘He was funny, loving…my little friend.’
16-year-old Mikey Roynon died from a single stab wound at a house party in Bath in June 2023.
On 3 May, three teenagers were sentenced for their roles in that fatal stabbing.
Mikey's mother, Hayley Ryall, is now calling on the government to do more to tackle knife crime.
A ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Office spokesperson said: “We have some of the toughest knife crime laws in the world, and while hospital admissions for young people with serious knife injuries are down by a quarter since 2019, more needs to be done to address the root causes of this violence.
“We have banned zombie and cyclone knives, and are going further to stop machetes from being used on our streets. We are also toughening sentences for anyone caught with a banned weapon or found selling knives to under-18s, and giving police new powers to seize any knife they believe might be used in criminality.â€
