County Durham mam Gemma Louis says a new medical pilot has given her hope.

She has waited for 11 years for a kidney transplant, because the chances of her body rejecting a new organ are high.

A new programme means kidney patients who usually need transfusions before and after a transplant could get blood better matched to their tissue type to reduce the risk of organ rejection.
