Nicola Nuttall on writing a book in memory of her daughter: ‘I want to make Laura proud’
Nicola Nuttall, whose daughter Laura died of a rare form of brain cancer at the age of 23, has written a book in her memory.
Laura worked to raise awareness of the disease and inspired many by ticking off a bucket list of goals, including commanding a Royal Navy ship and meeting Michelle Obama.
Nicola's new book, ‘The Stars Will Still Be There’, is an honest account of how Nicola, her husband Mark, Laura and her sister Gracie coped after the diagnosis.
Ahead of the book’s release, 5 Live Drive’s Tony Livesey went round to Nicola’s for a cuppa and a catch up.
Speaking about her daughter, Nicola said: “I’ve just got to convince myself that she’s here and she’s keeping an eye on us”.
Nicola added that she wants to carry on doing things that would make Laura proud, as “this is all for her really”.
