Tommy, who is autistic and has ADHD, developed what his mother called a "fixation with coins" after taking up magnet fishing. His mum Helen posted an appeal on Facebook asking if anyone had any coins that they would be happy to pass on to Tommy so he could grow his collection.

And the family has been blown away by the kindness of strangers.
