Pushed over and killed in bank queue argument
The daughter of Myra Coutinho-Lopez reacts after a woman is convicted of her manslaughter. Courtney Richman, 26, was given a suspended sentence after pushing over the 82-year-old in Lloyds Bank in Welwyn Garden City. Mrs Coutinho-Lopez, who had dementia, had forgotten she had taken out money only three days before and argued with the bank clerk, causing a long queue to form behind her. Her daughter, Michelle Lopez, says she’ll campaign to ensure staff receive dementia training. Lloyds said it would consider the judge’s comments and the evidence given during the trial. A spokesperson for the bank said: “This is a very sad case and out thoughts continue to be with Mrs Coutinho-Lopez’s family. Photo: Hertfordshire Police.
