Knitted poppy cascade marks D-Day in Braunstone
The 6th June 2024 marks 80 years since D-Day, one of the most decisive moments in the second World War.
Commemorative events are taking place throughout Leicestershire, including a unique knitted tribute in Braunstone.
Local knitters made over 14,000 poppies which have been stitched together to create the banner at Braunstone Civic Centre.
Matt Smith went to see it for himself.
