'I avoid coming into Hereford due to the lack of disabled parking'

A Hereford woman has spoken-out about what she feels is a lack of disabled parking in the city.

Ellie Walker is a Blue Badge holder, as she has Fibromyalgia which causes chronic pain and forces her to walk on crutches.

She claims less than 3% of Herefordshire Council's parking spaces in Hereford are dedicated solely to disabled drivers like her.

Four of those car parks have no disabled parking at all.

However, Herefordshire Council has defended its record, saying Ellie's figures “don't accurately represent" Blue Badge parking provision in Hereford.

The local authority told us Blue Badge holders can use any of its 1602 parking spaces across Hereford, not just disabled bays.
