Hull mathematician John Venn’s cricket machine
Facing the bowling machine is a regular part of any cricketer's training, from grassroots clubs to the IPL. But did Hull-born mathematician and physicist John Venn, most famous for his diagrams, have a hand in their creation? Professor of Engineering Dynamics and Vibration from the University of Cambridge Huge Hunt has rebuilt a model Venn created 115 years ago to find out.
