Stoborough primary students campaign for a slower road
Stoborough Primary School sits just south of Wareham, across the Frome river and a kilometre of meadowland. The road which connects the two places, known as 'The Causeway', has a speed limit of 40 miles per hour across that meadowland.
Pupils and teachers began raising concerns to the school that the road is too fast, as it is a popular walking route for many of the students and the fast traffic makes them feel unsafe.
Students have also voiced environmental concerns, with feelings of unease about walking potentially encouraging more families to drive.
