Children given vape warning after 20,000 seized
Parents are being urged to discuss the dangers of illegal vaping with their children after more than 20,000 illegal devices were seized by Trading Standards Officers in Leicestershire.
It's illegal for children to buy devices under the age of 18. Research in 2022 revealed that a quarter of under 18s in Leicestershire had tried a vape. Now both Trading Standards and Public Health are working together to tackle underage vaping in the county.
The warning also comes after a student who reportedly used a vape at a Leicestershire school was taken to hospital after falling ill.
Helen Donegan from Trading Standards in Leicestershire spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Giles Taylor.
