New MP: 'Every journey starts with a first step'
The newly-elected MP for Leicester South has spent the weekend meeting his constituents.
The win for Independent candidate Shockat Adam Patel came as a shock for many, including the former Labour MP Jonathan Ashworth, who had a majority of more than 22,000 from the 2019 General Election.
Mr Patel has been meeting with locals on Evington Road, after campaigning for the seat on the issue of Gaza.
The new MP for Leicester South has been telling ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Ady Dyman that he can make a difference in parliament, and that his independence is a strength.
