Essex charity worker’s escape from Kabul
Pen Farthing from Dovercourt near Harwich helped rescue 67 citizens and 171 animals from Afghanistan during the Taliban takeover in August 2021. Pen is a former British Royal Marines commando, and the founder of the Nowzad animal charity. Evacuating the staff out of Kabul meant that the animals in the shelter would have no-one to care for them, which is why both staff and pets were rescued, he said...
