In July, a Leicestershire art teacher explained why she had made it her mission to paint every one of the county's 310 churches.

Hayley Fern began capturing the churches across Leicestershire in watercolours during the school holidays in 2022.

By July 2024 she had painted pictures of 79 of the buildings in her local diocese to raise awareness of their beauty.

Hayley explained to Ben Jackson how the idea of doing this first came about.
