Skyscraper plan in proposed £1bn city development
A £1bn development which includes a 71-storey skyscraper has been proposed for a city.
The Salford site, on the northern half of Regent Retail Park, could host up to 3,300 new flats alongside commercial spaces and a public park.
Salford Mayor Paul Dennett previously shared concerns about a potential loss of retail space, while a public consultation highlighted fears about over development and infrastructure.
But developers Henley Investments said that while the plan did not include affordable homes it did aim to make a “very significant” contribution to local infrastructure.
