Matthew Hudson-Smith on setting a European record in the 400m
Matthew Hudson-Smith set a European record in the 400m at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in London.
The 29-year-old ran in 43.74 seconds, just days before he’s due in Paris for the 2024 Olympics.
Matthew told 5 Live Breakfast he was “confident” going into the race as he’s been training using a race model simulation which showed he was “in the shape” to do what he did.
The world silver medallist will also be competing in the 4x400m relay.
