Cambridgeshire is steeped in recent Olympic history with examples like Peterborough gymnast Louis Smith, the only British gymnast to win a medal in three Olympic Games.
However, the history of the Olympic Games and its links to Cambridgeshire go back as far as the 16th and 17th centuries.
Local sport historian Nigel Fenner (a relation of Francis P. Fenner, who created Fenner's Cricket Ground) told Sue Dougan about Cambridgeshire's Olympic pedigree.
