The Bibby Stockholm saga explained
The Bibby Stockholm barge, that was moored off the Dorset coast in the summer of 2023, to house asylum seekers will be shut down in 2025.
It was originally brought into service by the previous Conservative government to reduce the cost of asylum accommodation.
But it has proved hugely controversial and the new Labour government has said it will not renew the Bibby contract beyond January 2025.
So how did we get here and what will happen to the hundreds of people onboard? ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ reporter Sophie Cridland explains.
