Parents have been left confused about how to claim Tax-Free Childcare because of the government’s labelling.
The scheme had been labelled as Tax-Free Childcare and Martin Lewis believes that a change of name will help parents to understand their eligibility more clearly.
Martin told Gethin Jones: “It’s so poorly named it’s confusing. In my letter to the Chancellor, I’ve actually asked her to rename it the “Working Family Childcare Top Up” because this is a top up on childcare for working parents aged 11 or younger, 16 or younger if they have a disability, who pay for childcare.”
This was the third step in a three step plan that Martin wanted people to go through if they needed childcare support over the summer holidays.
