Worcester Splashpad breakdowns 'embarrassing'
It's one of the most loved attractions in the city, but there are growing concerns over the amount of times the Splashpad is breaking down, preventing the feature being filled with families whenever the sun starts to appear.
Situated in Gheluvelt Park - the feature has had to close on some of the hottest days of the year, with Worcester City Council blaming it on a technical fault.
An investigation is now underway, to find out if it is coming to the 'end of its working life'.
Tom Edwards reports.
David Blake is Worcester City Council's Managing Director - he's described the repeated breakdowns as "embarrassing for the council in terms of PR".
He says the review will examine "how many times the Splashpad has failed, what the duration of each failure was, and what the specific reason was" for each failure, as well as what it might cost to fix it.
