Essex batter Robin Das on first One Day Cup win
Teenage all-rounder Luc Benkenstein top-scored with 67 from 63 balls to help secure Essex's first victory of the campaign as they triumphed by 63 runs against Gloucestershire at Bristol.
Benkenstein was supported by Robin Das (52) in the visitors' total of 262-8, with seamer Dom Goodman taking 4-43 for Gloucestershire, who collapsed to 78-8 in reply after three early wickets for Shane Snater.
Ajeet Singh Dale held Essex up with an extraordinary career-best knock of 63 from 34 balls, including five sixes and five fours.
He shared an 85-run partnership for the last wicket with Tom Smith until he was finally dismissed to end the Gloucestershire innings at 199.
