Opened in 1970 the RNLI lifeboat has been launched 496 times and saved 71 lives. In 2024 the Royal National Lifeboat Institution is 200 years old, and volunteers, supporters and staff are running events across the year to highlight the achievements and commitment of this world-class lifesaving service.
