Wojtek Czyz’s Paralympic comeback
Wojtek Czyz will make his Paralympic comeback in Paris after 12 years away – in a different sport and for a different country.
Czyz competed for Germany in Athens, Beijing and London, winning seven medals in athletics; four of them gold.
Now after two Paralympics away, he's back – but in Paris he will represent New Zealand in para-badminton – a sport he only picked up three years ago.
Ahead of his fourth Paralympic Games, Czyz spoke to Sportsworld’s Nishat Ladha about how a football injury started his Paralympic journey and a voyage across the world led to his latest sporting chapter. Plus, why Jurgen Klopp will be one of his supporters in Paris.
