Wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft has put her support behind a movement designed to empower Paralympic athletes.

The 鈥淚 won鈥檛 be participating at Paris 2024鈥� campaign wants Paralympians to be seen as respected competitors as opposed to participants who are simply happy to be there.

The seven-time gold medallist told 5 Live Breakfast: 鈥淲e鈥檙e not here to have a go. We don鈥檛 pop out of a box every four years and decide we want to get on a track.

鈥淭his is our day-to-day job. This is our passion. This is what we do. We work incredibly hard. The performances that people see here from me are 17 years of hard work.鈥�
