What are Thames barges? And how can you board one?
Throughout September the Totally Thames festival celebrates the river, and it's history through activities, talks, walks and boat rides.
There's also a unique opportunity to cruise along the Thames on the Sailing Barge Will, a classic Thames Barge from 1925 – and the largest spritsail Thames Sailing Barge ever built at just under 100 feet long, and 100 feet tall.
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio London's Robert Elms has been finding out about it from Julia Biddle, who runs the Sailing Barge Will.
