Unlock Runcorn is a major regeneration project aimed at revitalising the area.

The first phase will extend the Bridgewater Canal west of Waterloo Bridge, featuring a new footbridge, boat mooring, activity zones, green space, and an archaeological study site.

Funded by Halton Council's 拢23 million Towns' Fund bid for Reconnecting Runcorn, the project kicks off with a "big dig" to uncover original canal structures, highlighting the town's rich history and paving the way for future development.
