Brinklow's Great Neighbour
Steve Blundred and his truck are a familiar site in the Brinklow area.
Whilst on his way home in January one day, Steve had planned to join his wife at her uncle's funeral but instead he stopped to help Derek and Kath Hancox, an elderly couple whose house was being flooded during extreme weather conditions.
Using his truck to collect several tonnes of sand from the nearby quarry, Steve was able to help to protect the property making sandbags, and helped to clean up the aftermath when rain subsided. The couple now call him the "angel of Brinklow".
He’s been nominated for a ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ CWR Make a Difference award for being a Great Neighbour.
