A 14-year-old boy accused of murdering an 80-year-old man in a park has appeared in court.

Bhim Kohli died on Monday after an attack at Franklin Park in Braunstone Town, Leicestershire, while walking his dog Rocky on Sunday.

The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Thursday. He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Leicester Crown Court later.

There has been an outpouring of sympathy for Bhim Kohli's family. Floral tributes, cards and candles have been left in the nearby church.
