They get a mixed response --- with some dismissing them as a celebration of the objectification of women.

But they've changed a lot over the years, placing greater emphasis on female empowerment and confidence.

Kelly Wilson from Burford was named Miss Cotswolds earlier this year --- and will compete for the title of Miss Great Britain.
