Guardiola 'was offered' England job - Balague
Pep Guardiola spent two months deliberating on whether to take the England manager's job after being offered it by the FA - according to Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague.
Speaking to Rick Edwards on 5 Live Breakfast, Balague said that before landing on German Thomas Tuchel Manchester City boss Guardiola had been "offered the job".
"[Guardiola] thought about it for two months, and after two months he said no because he didn't know what he was going to do at the end of the season", he said.
Balague also said that England are front of the queue if Guardiola is handed an international managerial post - something Balague concludes is likely.
"What seems clear is that in the cycle from the next World Cup to the following one, he will have a national side and England are favourites," he said.
