Is it time to use salt instead of sugar for tea? Award-winning drinks expert, author and presenter Neil Ridley spoke to 5 Live Drive’s Leila Nathoo about pairing drinks with crisps that create both classic and unexpected combinations.
Talking about the time he combined a salt and shake with a cup of tea: “I think maybe there was something psychosomatic whether I was willing this to work, but I enjoyed my cup of tea significantly more.â€
He went on to say: “Then of course it led into coffee and I thought, where would you have coffee? Breakfast time. Hang on a second. Maybe there’s a breakfast pairing here. And I got some Torres fried egg crisps and I thought, ok there’s something in this. And then you throw in a bacon Frazzle and all of a sudden you’ve got a deconstructed cooked breakfast."
