Leicester team aim to win University Challenge
A team of University of Leicester students are hoping to bring the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ University Challenge trophy back to the city for the first time since 1963.
George Gowland, Noah Lister, Greg Beeden and Edward Owen-Beckwith will take on a team from the London School of Economics. The Leicester crew are hoping to match the achievements of Leicester’s 1963 team, which won the first-ever series when they saw off Oxford’s Balliol College.
The University of Leicester also saw another first - in 1974, Sandya Narayansami became the first Indian woman to compete on the show. Nearly five decades on, Sandya has met up with Greg Beeden, a local student in this year's team, to compare their experiences.
They spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Conor O'Grady.
