Bells of Birkenhead - 137 year tradition broken
After a complaint from a resident, Wirral Council has switched off the 15-minute chimes of the Birkenhead Town Hall clock.
The chimes have been ringing every quarter of an hour for about 135 years, but now they will only ring on the hour.
