FitzWimarc School students complete English Channel-distance swim for charity
Four students from The FitzWimarc School in Rayleigh have completed a swim equivalent to covering the English Channel to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. George Coverly (17), George Nagle (17), Jack Minney (17) and Henry Dean (18) - ranked third in Britain for his age in 50m Butterfly - completed 1,352 lengths of the swimming pool between them at Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre in just over seven hours on Thursday 24th November, raising nearly £2,000 for charity. The boys came up with the idea for a project in their business class. Warren Muggleton spoke to them as they finished the distance and their teacher Manjola Carter.
