'Strong gusty winds' hit Merseyside
Severe weather warnings for high winds and heavy rain have been issued for coastal areas in north-western England.
An amber warning - the second highest level of alert - will be in force on Saturday from 03:00 GMT until 21:00, the Met Office said., external
People living in coastal areas of Merseyside have been warned by forecasters to expect gusts of up to 70mph (about 110 km/h).
In the meantime, before the arrival of Storm Darragh this weekend, yellow warnings for wind and rain have been declared for much of England.
