We must do physical activity
Since retiring early Tony Kelly has dedicated his time to learning how to manage his type 2 diabetes without medication and sharing that knowledge in his role as a diabetes champion, helping others to make good choices when it comes to their health. He's now on the National Diabetes programme steering group and his positive approach sees him invited around the world to share his work, something he's achieved many accolades for. His awards include the British Citizen Award and the Black Honours Award for lifetime achievement, and is to receive an Honorary Doctorate from Warwick University in January 2025. He told Merisha Stevenson how important physical activity is for all of us in our day to day lives and how he was inspired by Linford Christie to learn to swim in recent years.
