The truth behind your £10 dress

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ goes inside the Chinese factories fuelling Shein's success.

In less than a decade, Shein has grown from a little-known online brand to one of the biggest fast fashion retailers in the world. It produces a lot of clothes very quickly, and sells them at very cheap prices. For this episode of 5 Minutes On, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s China correspondent, Laura Bicker, has spent the day speaking to workers in the so-called Shein village in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou. She found people working more than 75 hours a week in contravention of the country's labour laws. Shein has told the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ it is committed to ensuring the fair and dignified treatment of all workers in its supply chain.
