Walsall's leather museum proposal to close
Campaigners trying to stop the closure of Walsall's leather museum have described the proposals - including plans to digitise parts of the collection - as an "affront" to the town, given the industry "is so deeply written into our heritage".
Proposals due to be considered by Walsall Council next month include some physical samples going on display elsewhere.
A petition opposing the closure has more than 2,000 signatures. Walsall Council said more visitors were needed to ensure the "long-term sustainability of the museum".
It added that a town centre location would also make it more accessible.
