The MP for Loughborough has joined forces with council leaders across Leicestershire and Rutland to call on the government to release more cash for flood-hit communities.

Hundreds of people were displaced as 630 homes were affected by widespread flooding following a major incident that saw dozens of people rescued.

Labour MP for Loughborough Dr Jeevun Sandher has joined Charnwood Borough Council leader Councillor Jewel Miah and Leicestershire County Council's flooding lead Councillor Ozzy O'Shea in urging the government to do more to help areas affected by flood waters.
