Dragon boat swept away by storms found one year on
A Leicestershire boat which was thought to be lost and destroyed by flooding last year has been rediscovered, thanks to a passing motorist.
The 40 foot boat called 'The Major' had belonged to the Soaring Dragons boat club, based in Loughborough, but until this week its fate had been unknown.
The boat was spotted by Phil Clarke who saw the wreckage of a boat whilst driving by the River Trent.
Phil told the story to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester's Ben Jackson, who also heard from Paul Freemantle, the club's head coach, who said he and the team were in "disbelief" when they learned the boat had been found.
