'City brook used like open access landfill'
People in Leicester are being urged to stop polluting an urban waterway.
Willow Brook runs through the city and is a tributary of the River Soar.
Professor Sarah Gabbott from the University of Leicester has calculated that the amount of litter and junk thrown into the brook is equal in weight to 43 double decker buses every year. She is working with Green Circle Nature Regeneration as well as other community groups to clean up Willow Brook.
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leicester reporter Simon Ward met Professor Gabbott as the clean up began.
