Essex Police to make PCSOs redundant
Essex Police has revealed plans to make all 99 of their Community Support Officers redundant, along with 65 other staff roles.
Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington says the proposed job cuts are needed because the government's funding settlement isn't enough, and they were faced with a budget shortfall of more than five million pounds next year.
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Office said forces across England had been provided with the resources they needed to "keep communities safe".
