Scarborough engineer hit by £5,000 tool theft
Georgey Spanswick meets Scarborough heating engineer Ben Smallwood, whose £5,000 worth of tools were stolen from his van. Ben, along with other tradespeople, is participating in a ‘van rally’ in London to raise awareness of this increasing problem. Campaigners say that the rise in tool thefts is causing many to lose their livelihoods and are urging stronger action to prevent stolen equipment from being resold at car boot sales and markets.
