‘Frustration’ as A509 closure drags on
The Mayor of Newport Pagnell, Paul Day, says it’s affecting residents and businesses. In September 2023, Milton Keynes City Council closed the A509 from just north of the M1 at junction 14 to where it links with the A422 at the Tickford Roundabout. It was due to reopen in September 2024, but has been subject to delays. A spokesperson for the developers St Joseph said: “The road was reopened for local access before Christmas as planned. Through access to Junction 14 is expected to complete at the end of summer, which is some three months later than originally planned due to exceptional weather conditions over recent months. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.” Report by Amy Holmes.
