What made Malcolm X visit Smethwick?
Malcolm X visited Marshall Street in Smethwick on 12 February 1965 - at a time when the town was considered to be a hotbed of racial tension.
The previous year, Conservative MP Peter Griffiths had won the Smethwick seat from Labour amid a controversial campaign.
Back in 2005, Stephen Page from Darlaston made the film 'Malcolm X: A Day In Smethwick' as part of a community project.
