Delays to 'ghost town' restoration project
Leicester City Council is being criticised for delays after more than a hundred homes have been left abandoned for the past six years.
The properties on Hospital Close have long been boarded up and they've been targets for vandals and break-ins.
Leicester City council says a number of issues have delayed to the project it began after taking over the homes from the NHS in 2019. Council leaders admit they're "intensely frustrated" by the delays, but say they've hit problems with the condition of the homes and a downturn in the construction industry.
